1:00 – 1:45PM    Growing the Blue Ribbon Specimen for the State Fair with Jaime Rodriguez                                                                                                    Learn the secrets to growing that winning delphinium and what the judges are looking for at the State Fair.

3:00 – 3:45PM   Successful Cannabis Cultivation with Charles Stillman         Learn the basics of indoor and greenhouse cultivation. Sex determination, fertilizer, photoperiod, pests, and harvest will be covered.

10:00 – 10:45AM    Dirt’s Great for Depression with Jodie Anderson               Learn how to handle your soil from the soil expert.  Jodie will provide information on how to compost your garden into happiness!

1:45 – 2:30PM    Colored Pencil Garden Impressions with Rose Hendrickson                                                                                                     Learn to draw the garden with colored pencils using fine sandpaper as your canvas.  Move over Monet!

1:00 – 1:45PM    The Art of Encaustic with Judy Vars                                         Learn how to use beeswax to create your own masterpiece.

2:00 – 3:00PM    From Ground to Skin with Peggy Hunt                          Learn how local plants can be used for skin maintenance and topical remedies.  Peggy will also be revealing her secrets through an instructional class on how to make salves.

On the Borough Green

10:00AM – 6:00PM   (at the Sahara Storm Productions Booth)                      Join the dancers of Sahara Storm Productions as they demonstrate the art of belly dancing. 

21:00 – 12:45AM (at the Nourished Health Coaching Services Booth) Sauces and Sides with Fresh Herbs with Winona Benson                                        Join Health Coach, Winona Benson, as she presents creative and delicious ways to use your freshly grown herbs. You will see how simple herbs can be transformed into sauces and sides that will tantalize your taste buds! Recipe demonstrations, sample tasting, and handouts will be provided.

1:00 – 1:45PM    (at the All Dahlia’d Up Booth) Flower Halos with Misty VanderWeele                                                                                                             Enjoy crafting a flowery halo to dress up your faire attire and revel in Misty’s fabulous Alaska Grown cut flowers. This workshop will run until supplies last.

2:00 -2:45PM    (at the Cook Inlet Bonsai Study Group Booth) Bonsai in Alaska Gardens with Paul Marmora                                                                 Did you know you can bonsai native Alaskan trees and shrubs? You’ll never look at those ‘weeds’ the same way when you catch the bonsai bug!

Around Town – Artists Uncorked

11:00 – 6:00PM      Introduction to Open Studio with Diana Bland                  Learn how Artists Uncorked hosts their paint parties by participating in an open studio.  Guests get to pick their canvas size (25% off all canvas sizes) and pick their painting subject.  An artist will be on staff to assist you.  Just for the day, the first 10 visitors get a FREE 6×6 canvas to paint on so you might want to show up early!

Around Town -Arkose Brewery

4:00 – 5:00PM         Brewing 101 with Stephen Gerteisen                                 Learn more about the brewing process from a Master Brewer while also learning more about our local Arkose Brewery.  Due to the nature and location of this class,  only students that are 21 years old or older will be allowed to attend.


2:00 – 2:45PM       Walking History Tour of the Mat-Su Agricultural Showcase Garden with Jaime Rodriguez                                                      Learn about the history and development of Palmer’s popular showcase garden from one of its original caretakers.
